The 53rd Annual GRAMMY Awards will take place in Los Angeles at Staples Center on Sunday, Feb. 13, 2011, and will air live on the CBS Television Network from 8–11:30 p.m.
As the names were announced for the 2011 Grammy Nominees Wednesday night, rapper Eminem found himself leading the pack with 10 nominations thanks to his hit album, ‘Recovery.’ Selena Gomez and Stevie Wonder announced the names of the nominated artists in an hour special broadcast live from the LA Live Plaza outside Club Nokia in Los Angeles.
Break-out artist Bruno Mars followed Em with 7 nominations, while Lady Antebellum, Jay-Z and Lady Gaga each found themselves nominated for 6 awards.
Canadian pop star, (ehhm) Justin Bieber was so “shellshocked” after hearing he’d received two Grammy nods – including one for ‘Best New Artist’ that he could hardly speak when he was interviewed by LL Cool J via satellite just after the nominations were announced.
“Ok kinda shellshock.  Well not kinda… totally shellshock,” he tweeted.  “Don’t even remember what I said. #HOLYCRAP”
